When heavy rain is going on, sitting with friends and looking for snacks? DalWada is the one which forever remain in top of the demand. In Monsoon Dalwada becomes most favorite Snack for People in India specially in Gujarat  Dalwada is a delicious crispy snack. Can be serve with curds and coconut chutney but in rainy days Dalwada lover prefer it with Onion and Fried Mirch. How to Make Dalwada ? at home here I would like to give you recipe for Dalwada to serve your family and friends to enjoy with Rain <3  


Ingredients for Dalwada Recipe

1 cup - Mug dal, soaked in water for about 3 to 4 hours

1 tablespoon - rice flour

½ tablespoon - red chili powder

½ tablespoon - grated coconut

1/2 - big onion, chopped finely

2 pieces or as per the requried  - green chilies, low spiced a pinch of hing

3 to 4 pieces - curry leaves, chopped finely

Salt as per taste

Oil for deep frying

Method for How to Cook Dalwada 

Step 1: Pulse the green chilies in a blender until they are coarsely ground.

Step2: Drain out the water completely from the soaked dal and pulse a couple of more times.

Step 3: Dal should only be coarsely ground and it should NOT become a paste.

Step 4: Mix all the ingredients together, except the oil.

Step 5: Heat oil in a heavy bottomed pan.


Step 6: Meanwhile, take small dumplings out of the dal mixture and flatten them in between your palms.

Step 7: Drop the vada into the hot oil and deep fry until it done.

Step 8: Make sure to keep the heat between low- medium.

Step 9: If the heat is too high, the outer portions get cooked faster than the inner, and you'll end up with either burnt vadas or semi-cooked vadas.

Serve hot with Onion and Green Fried Mirch.
